Junior Church

Junior Church Superintendent Greta Gardiner heads a team of approximately 20 leaders and helpers.

We  welcome all children and prayerfully endeavour to nurture children in the Christian faith, providing an atmosphere where young people feel that adults in the church will care and listen.

Junior Church runs from 10am in the church hall and then joins the congregation in the main church for Communion and to recount what they have learnt in Junior Church.  We ask that parents arrive with children between 9.45 and 10 am to register before Junior Church sessions start.

All Junior Church leaders are CRB checked and sessions are led by the Junior Church Leader for that age group with an Assistant.

Junior Church sessions combine fun, engaging and interactive learning grounded in the faith of the Church, in a safe environment.  We have four age groups Bubbles for the youngest 3 to 4yrs, Splash for the 5 to 7yrs, X-stream for the 8 to 10yrs and GRID for those young people 11+. The older members of the GRID group also help in the younger groups

Bubbles Group (5 and under)In Bubbles the children learn about and discover
a relationship with God through stories and play

Splash!  Group (5-8’s)
In Splash the bible is brought to life and children learn about God in a fun and interactive way.

Xstream Group  (8-11’s)In Xstream Group the children are very active, energetic and full of questions.

They read and discuss the bible and enjoy playing games, baking, quizzes and performing sketches to the congregation.

The Grid Group  (11’s and over)
In the GRID Group the young people explore who God is and his relevance for them and society today. Many debates and discussions take place in this group as they question life, share opinions and discover how they can get answers from the bible.

Junior Church is open every Sunday with the exception of, the first Sunday in every month which is a Family Service and the summer holiday break.
